I am so exicted that I can hardly contain myself. LOL.

I truly hope that something may come out of it though to
re-unite the items I was given by another Rootschatter
a few years ago.

I have found 3 living relatives so will be spending the afternoon
writing letters to see if any of them wish to have the items
rightfully back in their family.

Still no answer to my letters which is not surprising seeing 1st
Class letters and 2nd Class take so long nowadays to arrive.

Yesterday I spent over £17.00 having the 2 articles photocopied
as I realised I would miss having a record of them for myself after
looking after them for 2 years.

Fingers crossed that I get a result, otherwise I will give them to a museum
as I don't want the responsibility of them any longer, mainly because the
embroidery is getting creased and ruined and they deserve to be looked
after properly, not left in the envelope they were sent to me in.

Hi Seahall.
I am currently on a project to research the Northamptonshire Regt in WW1. Initially I wanted to do a Regt History, but find myself drawn towards the men rather than the Regt as a whole. I am collecting photos of headstones whilst on the Western Front and now comes the hard bit of putting faces to the names. I have a few good leads and have been given this link as a handy tip.
If we could do some mutual assistance here ie; I load my headstone photos and any images I have been supplied is there any chance of seeing if any of the names I have match images you have ?
I am really after mini Biographies of the men to add to images.
I would also like to match images to the men who have no known grave but and remebered at places like Loos
I hope this makes sense

Graham

Hi Graham.

Welcome to Rootschat.  :)

I did leave a message on TGWF on one of your topics.

I am sure you would have more luck with Scrimnet our Armed Forces mod
and Stebie9173 as they are the "creme de la creme" on the Northants Regiment.

I am just an amateur, saying that I would be willing to help if I can.

Just an up date.

Another Rootschatter (Bless them) contacted one of the relatives on a
network I am not a member of and knows they have seen the message,
but not responded.

Poor Harry, does no one want to have his priceless memories.

As most folk know I willingly take on costs occured for helping others.

I do not seek publicity, purely somewhere, method to return them.

Very, very sad.

I have photos of my father in WWI. He was injured and returned home and lived to be 83.
Shall I send them to this topic, or where?

Hi Rosemarie.  :)

I would love to have copies and information of your father.

Thank you most kindly for the offer.

I will P.M. you about how we can achieve this.
