Hi Kate.

Long time no see.  :)

I thought for a moment your last sentence to Phil was to me as
I put the link for him on the previous page.

Glad it wasn't as I wouldn't have wanted to write anything on my
own 3 men as I do not have enough other than basic information and
what Steve kindly noted, and TGWF therefore not my own work.

Will be in touch.

And seeing these are Northampton Men/Women Post-1945 maybe others may
have information to assist here.

Just so we get back on topic I will start a new request about
the British Legion as I have started to drift.

No change there then  :).

Hi JellyBean
Sorry for delay, happens frequently as unwell and drugs knock me out!
I'm a novice here and astonished at the depth and spread of knowledge. A couple of photos for Seahall has provoked interest, and so happy that it makes others happy. I put Stan's brief history and answers on previous page:
1. My G/dad Stan was in APC until end of 1917 when 60 who were at Warwick where had a dinner in local Woolpack hotel on occasion of being transferred to combatant units!! (he kept it secret from daughters and maybe from his wife?). Not all to same units - but he enlisted into MGC. His two service medals are stamped on rim as him in MGC not APC.
2. I need his war records and a son in law (who's ex-military like me) of another of his daughters should be applying. I will press for update. He was CQMS so vital role in provding equpiment for company.
3. I know Middle East and Russian front connection but never heard of Egyptian but I'll ask my aunt (it's difficult as she's far away and we both have mobility issues). I think she's fitter at 88 than I at 54, also best to ask these Qs in person too, so I'll ask my cousin's wife to do that!
4. Bench !! Yes never realised it could be a stage, that makes perfect reason for a picture to be taken too doesn't it? Never guessed connected - piccies only recently in our possession. Ta for info you gave on pro troupe - makes you sound local!!?
5. Cap badge - at 500% look all same shape and as Stan in APC then all must be APC. I know badges fairly well and would stake 50p on them being APC.
6. Whizzbang, yes had brief look on web. Yes I'll be honoured to write a piece - Needs picture - which one?, got original signed menu too!! what angle? how many words? Vital we use the info we all have keep memories and interest alive.
7. Other articles: I'm working on Stan due to him losing so many cousins etc http://www.roll-of-honour.com/Northamptonshire/Daventry.html . My recent posts on here in County I mention the angle of the 'family' who didn't come back. Project work with British Legion's to update their website

Regards

PHIL

HI All.

I would like to thank Mary, Susan and sister and Jayne and partner
who kindly shared some information and photos of their
Northamptonshire relatives who fought in WW1/WW2 with me today.

Also Stebie here who was so kind sharing info with me also.

I appreciate it as always and am astounded by folks kindness.

Hi All.

I met someone who is doing a project on Wellingborough War
Memorial this week.

If anyone can help him (or me  :)) with information about the
named men on it please contact me as I can not put his name
on the forum.

Thanks.  :)
