I must admit that I thought the "E Jones" man looked like him!

I'll find the info for the Service Records a bit later. I believe it is straightforward as long as you are a direct relative.

Yes, the Museum is in Abington Park just out of town. The Museum archive staff tend to be at the Shoe Museum at Guildhall Road in town.

HI Diana/Steve.

As other folk here also have Hackleton/Piddington ancestors the
names on the memorial may also be their's.

Diana I think the address for N.O.K. Military records post 1921 is

Army Personnel Centre, HQ Secretariat, Historic Disclosures,
Mail Point 400, Kentigern House, 65 Brown Street, Glasgow G2 8EX

Please correct me if I am wrong anyone.

I used to work at Northampton Women's Aid (Domestic Violence) at
13 Guildhall Road, so I know the Museum well as it was over the road.  :)

Must go and see that Son of mine now, he is bound to be in his element.  ;D

You are not wrong, Sandy....

Here is a link to details, plus the Kinship Form that needs to be filled in, because as things stand presently we cannot ask for other peoples details for the post-WW1 era.

http://www.veterans-uk.info/service_records/army.html

The Service Number for the form will be his 5875048 number

Hi Steve & Sandy

We used to go to Abington Park to play as children and I remember going to the Museum there.   It always seemed rather dry and uninteresting - what a missed opportunity!   It will be on my list of places to visit next time I'm in Northampton and so will the Museum in the Guildhall.

The photos of the War Memorial are a great help.   I don't think Samuel JONES is part of "my" family, but I'm sure that Charles GARNER, Reginald LIDDINGTON, Harry PEARSON, Frank PEARSON, Herbert WESTBURY & Harry WESTBURY would all have been cousins of my Grandfather in some degree.

Thank you so much for your help.   I'll get the letter off to Glasgow a bit later on.

Best wishes to you all,

Diana

Hi Steve

I Just missed your last post.   Thank you for the link to the form.   Sadly my printer has just thrown a wobbly with a horrible screeching sound, so I can't print it at the moment!
