Green Margaret Alice 1884 b. Blackburn, living Preston, Lancashire

Searching for father of Margaret Alice GREEN b.1884/5. I have rough info on her  1906 marriage certificate to William Slater (22) of 10 Ormside St married at St.Thomas Church, Preston showing a William Edward Green listed, possibly deceased father as marriage was on 3rd Feb.1906-Margaret shown as 21 and witnesses, Samuel Green and Mary E. Clark (half sister of William as poss. his mother Jane remarried?). In 1901 census Maragaret aged 17 at 205 Barlow St, Preston, Lancs along with widowed Mother Rachael Green (40) b.Tynemouth, Northumberland, brothers Samuel 14, Squire 9 and Richard 8 and sister Nellie 2.
Any help of accurate birth date for Margaret would enable me to seek out a copy of her birth cert. thus providing parents full names....can't visit archives as live in France!

Maybe the birth certificate of Squire is the way to go for father's name.

If she was married before this is her christening.

Hi Pam,

Thank you, so so much for all this info!  I'm new to RootsChat and its so good to have someone take a fresh look at my search!! And how good of you to point out that Squire would be the best link to take to find the parents!!!  The Naylor 1881 Census in Stansfield seems to tie in on many aspects.   I have a Squire Green born 1892 Blackburn North BN/27/74 - I'll send off for the b.cert.!!!!

My family link is via Oliver Wilson 1794 and found this Leadbetter family history which shows him listed. Are your Leadbetter's connected?
