Once again, a brilliant number of details to mull over, thank you very much.

So far, no second reply yet from Vanda May Boughey's grandson, am sure he will have replied by to-morrow (we have a slight time difference!).

All that you have posted, conjures up some very interesting thoughts and further questions indeed.

I'll have to be quick and return later, when once again www is not so busy....so in the meanwhile....

Wonder where Frank J Boughey, and William Boughey,  sons of William & Susannah Boughey, both born abt 1886 & 1885 respectively in Victoria, S. Australia, were during the British Census' of 1911, as they both don't appear to be at home with the rest of the family at 12 Shiel Rd, New Brighton, Liscard?

It's a shame about the shipping lists, but thank you for trying.

How usual was it for folk in the building industry, in the 1880's do you think, to up sticks, head for the Antipodes, stay a few years only, then return to their origins?

I'm so curious as to why they did it?  Perhaps their Great Grandson will have the key?  Fingers crossed!

Oh yes, thank you Wozzle, I did think that at one stage about Frank, and then forgot, but especially as Vanda May was born in the first half of 1906.

and there is this marriage which could be them
