Hello again Phil

Big sis has sent me the details.  Hopefully the pictures are attached.

The posed group is a photo which includes my grandad -back row extreme left.  Frustratingly the bottom centre part of the picture is damaged and I think this probably held some clue as to where it was taken.
The second picture is a postcard sent to my grandmother which is postmarked
Manchester K 1915 The photograph appears to be attributed to -  J Cleworth, Chemist and Photographer, Green Heys(?)

Hope you can shed a little light.

Many thanks for your time and trouble

June

Hello June,

I hadn't forgotten you, but I see that you've already found the answers on GWF and that Sue (Light) spotted it there.

There is another older thread, that I found this link to Images of Manchester on, which has a few pictures of the Ducie Avenue School. I didn't have time last night to see if any of the other sites are on there.

I have just picked up on this discussion and would like to tell June that my grandfather was also in the Royal Bucks Hussars Machine Gun Core. His name was William George Sear and after his intial training he was also sent to Egypt and then to France. Although I have his military record I don't have any photographs...are there any kept by anyone, anywhere?

Thanks
Maggimott
