I do love the way some records are transcibed (they did Scalty as Leatty for one I saw- and the original is crystal clear!).
'Lissamore' is Lissaghmore townland in Agivey Parish, not far from Cullycapple. 1831 Census for Lissaghmore shows a Thos. Gillen head of household with 3 males, 3 females (all R.C.).
Lissaghmore comes under the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers and their Notes on Tenants (1863) give the following:
-Thomas Gillan (6 acres 3 rods 10 perches) annual rent £4 12s. Son, his wife and their 3 children. Poor place and people.
- Andrew Gillan (6 acres 2 rods 10 perches) £4 annual rent. And son. Poor people and a miserable place.
