Monumental Inscriptions at the STANTHORPE CEMETERY mention 18 or 20 PIERPOINT's by name.

I am happy to provide the details if they are of interest ;D

Hi Trishhh

Sorry about the delay in replying to your post, but Christmas and New Year happened to get in the way.  ;D
Thanks for information - I'll add it to my collection which is in dire need of some attention. I have used the Australian newspapers (before it became Trove) to find out quite a lot about the family and I know that there are many more articles, some of which I have downloaded and again I need to check what I have and what I need to download.

Hi Gerry
Thanks for the information. Again, my apologies for the delay in posting my reply.
I believe that George and family worked on the railway until it reached Toowoomba and then for some reason left - whether it was a voluntary decision to leave the Queensland railway or whether it was forced I don't know. It could have been the lure of the goldfields at Stanthorpe, but whatever the reason the family seemed to have made a success of their lives in Stanthorpe.

Hi Sue
 :)
Sorry about the delay in my reply.
I would be interested in the monumental inscriptions in Stanthorpe cemetery, if you can find the time. I already have a photo of George and Harriet's headstone.
