I am somewhat confused here.
Your original request had him born Hampshire not NZ.
You also asked for Census entries and then say you have seen them.
So what are you exactly looking for?
Did Robert Linnell and Elizabeth marry in Sth Africa? Was George born there? From the entry on passenger list it may be that Robert was in the Navy. The entry has occp Naw next to it. So others have Nav/Navy and similar.

FREEREG has these 2 BURIALS;
Sarah KETTLE, St Leonard , Priors Marston, 30 June 1848, age 79
( so born c 1769 which works with marrying 1790)
William KETTLE, St Leonard, Priors Marston, 31 October 1851, age 84

Ok, you should be able to find them in 1841 Census and William in 1851 Census which will give his POB

I cant find Abraham Linnells christening but if you find him on 1841/1851 Census I think that maybe he was not born in Warwickshire.

Thanks Trish,
I was only going on what my grandmother said.
But after ordering Abraham's death cert it said he was born in NZ

I weird thing is, noone know what happened to the George Linnell, son of Robert and Elizabeth that came over with them from South Africa to NZ

George Linnell aged 3 in 1864 may have died and his death not reg or is mistranscribed on NZ BMD. I cant find it.
They may have had another George that they named after him.

Hi Karee,
The 1881 Death Cert should have children listed. Not usually names but ages and sexes and possibly living or not.

I have Census access again if you don't I can post the Linnells 1841/1851/1861 etc for you.
Robert Linnell definitely only appears on the 1841/1851 Census so may have left for Sth Africa by then.

What do you know about Elizabeth Hill?

From the 1851 Census Abraham Linnell was born Northamptonshire.

Just a though but George age 3 in 1864 may have had a first name. Eg he could be Abraham George Linnell.

The closest death which may be unrelated is;
John LINNELL, died 1894, age 35 ( born c 1859)

There is a Abraham Linnell marrying in 1896. As there are very few Linnell BMD's you may be able to isolate his BMD from all the Linnells you know about.
Or he may have gone to Australia

i dunno much about them really. Expect that Abraham was born Abraham Linnell and changed his name by deed poll to Thomas.
He was a nasty man from what my nana has told me (he was her grandfather) kicked his first wife out, and reading the divorce papers sounded nasty.....
his first wife is in an unmarked grave at Waikumete Cemetry Auckland, hes up in Whangarei.

I might have to order Robert, death cert and Elizabeth's too.
All i know about robert is that hes buried in an unmarked grave at the anglican church in Onehunga auckland, died about 45yrs old. His wife Elizabeth is at Waikaraka Cemetery.
