A bit more about William Hamilton Cleland & Esther (Briars) Gibney.

Northern Whig, 26 May 1923: William Cleland, a carter, ... _ing in Wensley Street, was admitted Royal Victoria Hospital yesterday ... from fractured leg.

1924 directory- 11 Wensley St.: Wm. Clelland labourer (1932, 1939, 1943 same)

Marriage: William Cleland   Briers   14th January 1928   Belfast (perhaps William's wife Ellen had died)

William Hamilton Cleland of 11 Wensley St. died 0 May 1946, age 58:

Back to your Joseph Green.
The Esther (Briars) Gibney Cleland seems to be ruled out from being the Mrs. Esther Cleland found in 1960 directory. Esther (Cleland) McCormick is also not correct one.
So, it may now be a matter of viewing on GRONI's site the 1957 death certificate for Joseph Green to see marital status & informant.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
