Thanks again for that. I don't think I'll ever find out what happened to my Grt Grandfather as I can't find him on 1911 census either. Perhaps he'd been transported overseas! I only presumed he'd died as my Grt Granmother is down as widow on her 2nd marriage but it may be that he was just missing for all those years & she just wanted to make her second relationship legal!
