Hannah Trevena
« on: Friday 21 August 09 12:29 BST (UK) »
Hi All
In 1872 Hannah Trevena married William Rich in Millom. On the marriage certificate her age is listed as a Minor and her father is Josiah Trevena, a miner. In susequent census returns her birthplace is given as Camborne Cornwall.
Unfortunately I can find nothing for either Hannah or Josiah prior to 1872 in Cornwall or Cumberland, and nothing for Josiah after 1872.
Am I just not seeing them or sre they just missing?
Can anybody help please

You will find her mother (Maria) and some family in Millom in 1871.

I can find Josiah and Maria in Cornwall in 1851 HO107/1900/534/24

Same family in Calstock in 1861 RG9/1462/39/2  - but no Hannah ???

Perhaps Mary 7 in 1861 was

Births Mar 1854
TREVENA    Mary Anna         Redruth    5c   270

Deaths Jun 1869
TREVENA    Josiah    51    Whitehaven    10b   374

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Thanks Geoff
Mary Anna looks like a possibility seeing as the way Anna would have pronounced with the Cumberland accent.

I can't see Maria in 1871 in Millom, but I can see Mary Anna 17 living as a lodger with her brother in Jacktree Rd Egremont.
Also it looks like Joshia and Mariah are Josiah and Maria in 1861

Thanks for your help.

1871 Maria RG10/5268/22/37

There were so many Cornish came up to the mines in Cumberland.  Moor Row (near Cleator) even has a Penzance St.

Thanks Geoff
I still can't see Maria in 1871 using The Genealogist.co.uk. I will have to wait til I get access to Ancestry again.

Thanks again
