You appear to have missed the points I made above.    If their daughter was born in 1927 - where does an 1864 marriage feature???

If you want information on John Jackson - you will need to lookup the marriage on Scotlands People to get his parents names and his age from the marriage cert

Catherine Gibson and John Jackson were married in Blantyre in 1912

The full marriage cert can be viewed and downloaded from that site.  This will give his age and his parents' names.

thanks for the info carolew and gadget i have now got a copy of the certificate and it is very helpful as it also gives the mothers maiden name to find more info from.

can i ask how easy it will be to find the children from this marriage between catherine gibson and john jackson
as there could be 8 in total.

i have spoke toone of the daughters sons but he says he does not know anything or is it the period he was born in as he is about 60 years old

It will be a bit more difficult because the birth registrations on SP don't give mother's maiden name and Jackson is not all that uncommon  a surname but you do  have their names:

caterine jackson, jean jackson, robert jackson

If you had some approx ages for them, post 1912, it might be possible to narrow it down.  Where they born Blantyre, doyou know?

I've down a quick birth search 1912-1925 in Blantyre for Cat* , Jean and Robert Jackson but I'm not finding anything. 

Maybe they were born elsewhere.  Only a Robertina (1920 Springburn)  in Lanarkshire as a whole in the time period.

i tried the same years on a births search without any findings  so i am thinking it may have to be a trip to blantyre

I risked just putting in Jackson and Blantyre, 1912-1925 and these look definites:

1914 - William Gibson Jackson
1921 - Robert Gibson Jackson (not sure why he didn't come up on the previous searches!)
1923 - Marion Gibson Jackson

In all there were 9 Jackson births registered 1912-1925 in Blantyre.

thanks gadget have found the marriage details on scotlandpeople and have gone back to her great grandparents but having difficulty inreading her maiden name.

the marriage is between robert cameron and elizabeth smith whichshows the parents as hamilton smith and marion smith maiden name ? cannot read i, is there anywhere else i could look for this info
