Thanks so much for your help Kris.
I thought he would be an easy one with such an unusual name.

Seemed OK to start with Shakel - found the wife and daughter without any problems but I just can't find a thing on him after the war. No sign of him in the electoral rolls, nothing in SA as to a marriage to 1937, fathering children to 1928 or a death to 1972. Can't see him travelling anywhere either.  :-\

Hi Shakel
By accident I came across your message re Cecil Leon Keys.  He is my husbands grandfather.  He and Hilda separated after only a few yrs of marrage and she went on to rear her 3 daughters.  He had no further contact with the family.  He lived in Perth and died in the  Sunset Hospital Nedlands on 21st September, 1968.  I have a copy of the death certificate.  I have found his war record in the National Archives of Australia - 7367862.  I am new at trying to use Rootschat however if I can help further you can email me.

Welcome to Rootschat, Ruth.   :D

If you post another couple of messages on here, you'll then be able to use the Personal Message system to exchange information directly with Shakel.

The Personal Message system will be in the top right hand corner of the board.

Hope that helps,

Dee   :)
