Erected by John Niven in Ballochniel in memory of Robert Niven his father d. 07 Oct 1799 aged 86 yrs. Also Margaret Ross his mother d. 28 Apr 1793 aged 78 yrs. The Said John Niven d 31 Oct 1822 aged 68 yrs and Jean Rodger his wife d. Mahaar Kirkcolm 17 Jan 1847 aged 83 yrs.

Also Janet Arthur spouse to the said Adam Niven D. 01 Sept 1782 aged 78 yrs. Also here lyes the corps of the above Adam Niven d. 9 Jul 1785 aged 78 yrs.
