Thanks so much for looking anyway.  That will confirm that Newcastleontyne probably is the only place.  Much appreciated

Thanks very much for this info I found it really interesting - I'm a little confused though - where was Alexander MacDougall's grave or was it Peter's?  Is it at Tarbolton as well?  Sorry about this but I am very new to this researching.  I think Alexander must be Peter's son from his first marriage to Margaret Pollock but I'll have to check this.  I'm pretty sure that we have the right Peter and Janet.
Hope you can put me straight on the whereabouts of the grave as I am visiting Girvan at the end of the month and would love to be able to visit the grave.
Thanks again
Suejay

The Alexander McDougall grave is at section M26 in the Girvan Doune Cemetery, East Section.

Peter and Janet are at B24 section in the Girvan Doune Cemetery, West Section.  what is interesting two graves up from this there is a Christina McIvor McDougall who died in Larne, Ireland 23.Oct 1918 aged 29 yrs. Dont know if she is related or not, she was married to a Andrew Oliver McKie.

Wow.  Thanks so much.
Christina McIvor McDougall was my grandmother.  It wasn't Christina who died in Larne but her husband Andrew Oliver McKie - I knew his grave was there from my mother, who was born in Girvan.
We can now visit all the graves
Thanks very much

hello,
I put a similar post on the forum, but this is the one that I  meant to put it on. It's for a look-up of a grave or burial record of Alexander Stewart or his wife Jane nee Murray, in Girvan, unfortunately I don't have a date of death, but I am assuming it is between 1855-1886. I appreciate that it is a big gap, but don't have any more info to go on except that they had at least one child, Alexander who was a mason. Unknown if there were any other children.
Your help would be gratefully appreciated

thank you for your look-up, sorry to say that they are not the right people, they would have died sometime between 1855 -1886, but I hope that you keep them in mind, thanks once again.
cheers

Thomas Sproat,d.16-11-1848,also diedat Kirkoswald.Sometimes the name is spelt as Sprott. He was a tailor.
