Coast - And a touch of Family History
« on: Tuesday 18 August 09 21:42 BST (UK) »
Did anyone see Coast tonight? They were up in the Faroe Islands and talked to a chap who lived in a house, parts of which were nearly 1000 years old. His family had only lived there since about the late 1500s though.  :o

Yes, I saw that.  And there was me thinking I was lucky to have a copy of a drawing of cottages where mine lived in 1750  ::)

Still... not much research on the family to be done - it would make this hobby of ours a bit short lived, don't you think?  Just jealous really  ;D

It seems like a well known Nordic furniture company was active that far back. They had to ship  the wood for the houses in from Scandinavia because the Faeroes were treeless. I wonder if they were flat packs?
