Hi Debbie
Are you aware of the Worsley Family Tree on Ancestry? There is not much about James Bertram or Nellie but quite a bit about Frank and descendants. It does show Nellie's occupation as machinist in the 1911 Census and James's occupation of turner on 1901 Census, which leads me to entries I found on passenger lists.
Kellie Worsley (I think mistranscribed...looks like Nellie to my on the image) b abt 1891 sailed aboard the Melita from Liverpool to Quebec, arriving July 20, 1919. Record states she was destined for Victoria, BC to her brother on farm, RMD No 1 Sydney, to help on the farm; occupation noted as machinist. (Sidney is a community a short distance from Victoria, BC)
I also found an entry which might be promising for James b abt 1884. Sailed aboard the Virginian from Liverpool to Quebec, arriving July 26, 1907. Record states he was destined for Toronto and occupation was Turner.
I'm off to the FHS library now so will see what certificates of BC Vital events I can find for your James and Nellie.
I will let you know later today.
Regards, Susan
