Looking for parents of James Thallan b 1750's Kennoway?

I'm trying to tack the parents of James Thallan/Thallon who may have been born in Kennoway in the 1750's. I can't find any record of his birth from "Scotland's people"

He had a number of children in Kennoway between 1791 and 1801 with Katherine May (Myles) (Jean, Barbara, Katherine, Andrew & Mary).

I suspect his parents may be George Thallan and Barabra Grindingstone who had two children in Kennoway between 1749 and 1751 (Peter and Robert) but I can't find any proof of this. This would help link a branch of the Thallan/Thallon family in Fife to my own.

you must have missed it on SP. use the soundex:

James Thalon 15/1/1758 Kennoway.  George Thalon & Barbara Grindison.

I had used this old posting to help me record some Kennoway BMDs.

I have now come across the correct date for the death of Barbara THALLON. She died 28 June 1856 in Glasgow, Scotland. Her husband was Robert JACKSON, who was still living at the time of her death.

There was another Barbara Thallon who was the daughter of Robert THALLON and Elixabeth GIBSON. I do not have any birth or death dates for her, however she was buried in Kennoway and Diddy's date of 1830 for the Barbara he mentions may well be the one. She may also have been married to Robert KAY and had twins, Robert & Isobel b. 1812 in Kennoway.
