Never did get any further with this.

Thomas parents names were a John Campbell and Francis Forrester, from his death cert, Elizabeth parents David Campbell and Janet Chalmers.  I never did find Thomas birth or Marriage certs, but was able to find his parents marriage cert in 1800, you could be right about a 2nd marriage for Thomas but never seen it on his death cert, I'm wondering if this was the correct Thomas in the 1861 census with his father and possibly a 2nd marriage for him.

Gosh it has been a while!

Did you ever check either James or Archibald's birth certs to see what details were given re their parents' marriage? Date and place of marriage are normally included on birth certs from the early 1860s.

Hi M it’s really doing my head in on my GG papa it say November 1855 on His Brother it says 22/11/54 I have checked old records also.  But nothing I think the Search for John Campbell is a census 1861 in Bridgeton aged 5 but ran out of credits on Scots people.

Given we haven't been able to find anything for their marriage so far likely they married before 1855 and the start of official registration.

What was Elizabeth's father David's occupation? Mason? I thought this might be her with family in 1841:

Yes, David Campbell is showing as a Mason Journeyman on Elizabeth's death cert. So,  does look like the 1841 census is very likely her with her family.

Thank you Monica for the confirmation, I’m not great at reading the old writing.  I have done search on Scots people for a  John
son of Thomas and Elizabeth  Campbell aged 5 in Bridgeton 1861 census, this is where Elizabeth  daughter  is born late 1861, but I haven’t bought it yet.
