NORRIS Family ~ Edington

  Hello Somerset...

The hunt for Benjamin Norris 1790 is over here in Edington as that is the only Benjamin for that date I can find. 

Henry Norris died in Water Stratford, rather enibreiated drunk in a pond. 1848. 

I 've found WS on 1851 HO 107 1724 136 page 15

Benjamin Norris 61 of...? I can't read it (1790)
Sarah  60
they are next door to a Joseph Norris 71 and family.

We have an Albert Norris in Edington 1844 much later and he married Sarah Ann Gullidge in 1865. + 8 children.

Does anyone know Benjamin from Edington please.

I am rather confused. 

We have Benjamin in Water Stratford Bucks in 1851 listing a birth in Hillesden Bucks.
Benjamin NORRIS born 21 Jan 1791 and bap 21 Mar 1791 Old meeting house independent, Buckingham parents James and Ann looks like a good match to me. (Brother Joseph 27 Apr 1788 and others listed on IGI)

James NORRIS = Anne HOARE 21 Oct 1784 Buckingham.

I am not very familiar with Bucks but Water Stratford, Hillesden and Buckingham appear to be very close together.

What has his to do with Somerset?

Sorry I have no idea who you are talking about Lesanne, perhaps I am just tired. It is very late in my part of the world and the thunder is keeping me awake. I must be missing something - You seem to me to be talking about Benjamin NORRIS aged 61 b Hillesden living in  in Water Statford in 1851. Sorry I can't for the life of me see what Edington has to do with it...........Kris

There is a marriage at Meare for a Benjamin and two baptisms, one Meare one Catcott.

There is a death recorded in the July Q 1846, Axbridge area.

I am sure you know there are dozens of Norris around the area.

Hello again

Went to the Records Office on Friday and found a baptism for Benjamin Norris and a brother Charles at Edington Church in Somerset

Charles to Matthew Norris of parish and Mary his wife 17 May 1788

Benjamin son of Matthew Norris and Mary his wife 14 Nov 1790

This was the way they were written down in the register, hope this helps with your family.
