Carr Family
« on: Saturday 15 August 09 12:45 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to find information on John and Violet Carr who lived on Union Street, Waterside, Derry and were married at the Long Tower by Father Chadderton.

John James Carr was born on 15/03/1911 and died on 15/05/1946. He had a brother William and a sister Maggie. Their parents were John and Mary.

I have also been told that John lived at 32 Glendermott Road.

John and Violet were ballroom dancers in the 1930-1940's.

John was in a wheelchair for a few years prior to his death.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What sort of information are you trying to find? Recent information is unlikely to be available online.
The 1911 census for Co. Londonderry will be coming online later this year.

Aghadowey I was originally told that the Carr family came from New Town Letterkenny, then I was told that the Carr family home was Glendermott Rd.

Kingskerswell thank you for your info.

Basically i'm trying to find any info that I can on the Carr side of the family and as i've been searching Letterkenny and came to a blank I was beginning to wonder if the name had been changed.

I really appreciate this help.

Carr and Kerr are both forms of the same name so you need to check for both when searching. As I said before, recent records are unlikely to be online.
