The John Todd at Carricknaveagh in 1769 pointed out by Christopher was in Killaney parish a few miles east of Hillsboro.  This Todd family goes back to the 1600s as freeholders.

HI Toddy,
I was wondering if you ever saw my message about how to go about doing the DNA and if you have any interest in this???

I have recruited Todd family DNA samples from 2 families in Co Down, 2 in Co Antrim, 2 in Co Tyrone and 1 in Co Armagh.  So this should give us an idea of whether all these Todds come from one or two different DNA patterns or whether there are unique patterns in each county.

If you did a DNA sample, then you'd know if you connect to the Todds who came to Co Down in the 1600s or not.

Based on the note on the bottom of my recent posting, it sounds like you'd have to communicate with me on the Personal Message system.   I'm new to Rootschat; so the rules are still a bit bewildering to me.
