Good Afternoon Colleagues

Perhaps someone with some wisdom or a crystal ball can assist me please.  Richard was the third child of Pascoe Thomas Rickard and Catherine Hoite.   He was born and christened 20 August 1770, St.Columb Minor, Cornwall.   He married Elizabeth Thomas on 30 April 1798 St. Enoder, Cornwall, England.   One set of IGI records I saw some years ago tended to suggested that there were two weddings on the same day involving a Richard Rickard and an Elizabeth.   Unfortunately I have misplaced my references.   Can someone please confirm that there may have been a duplicate record at IGI.   Certainly would help in confirming children.

My friend connects to others with long lines of Rickards .. probably thru a single mother birth so no Rickards surname on his tree

This leads to this 1841 Census Quintral Downs, St Columb Minor
John Rickard 60 Ag Lab
Ann Rickard 50
Jane Rickard 20

Although age 60 in 1841 he appears to be buried 28 Sep 1846 age 73, abode Quintrel Downs

As John does not appear on 1851 for his pob it is hard to know where he was born in Cornwall.

Also John/Ann do not name children Pascoe or Catherine so I would not be so sure who his Parents were.

Also just looked at Trees and it has;

Highly unlikely died age 105!

Hi Trish,

You are always such a wealth of information. I have Pascoe Thomas Rickard and wife Catherine Hoite. Thomas Pascoe Rickard is a later down the track. The name Pascoe is his mother's maiden name.  Am still unable to find a death date.

Its very confusing as Trees seem to have Thomas Pascoe or Pascoe Thomas as the same person!

Yes you are right there is a 1776 Bapt for a JOHN to Pascoe/Catherine.

+ a Burial; 04 Apr 1822 for Catherine RICHARD age 87 (1735)
