George Beard, Sussex, 1867

I am trying to find any record of a possible marriage for a George Beard, born 1867 in Chailey, East Sussex.  Unfortunately I have no idea if he even got married as he was still single at the age of 44 and I don't have any female names that have been suggested!!

I do have the following info from the 1881 census but that's about it I'm afraid  :

Ignore me, I must take a break!
He is with his brother Ernest in 1911......age 44, and with his mother in 1901 age 34.

Who did his brother Ernest marry? There's  a George BEARD of right age in Lewes 1911 ; when I ask for George BEARDS in Lewes with other BEARDS  I get one with an Ernest age 36, Fanny age 39, Maud age 6 and Joan F age 1 mth. The George in their house could be a child......

I've just found the 1911 record too 

It's frustrating trying to find marriage records especially when you don't have much to go by

FreeBMD shows a death for a George Beard age 44 Dec 1911 ref Lewes 2b 208 , so obtaining this certificate should show his marital status.

Hi there, did you get any further looking for George Beard.  I am researching the Beard family and George is my Great Uncle, his brother William was my Grandad.  I posted more or less the same message as you on GenesReunited and did not get any replies.  The notes I have in my tree for George are the last I have seen from the 1911 census and they are:- In 1911, George was still single at the age of 44 and living at 1 Brook St, Lewes with his Mother and Ernest.

I read one of your replies to say that he died, but has that been confirmed as yet.

Might I ask what connection you have with the Beard family please as we could swap each other's info that has been found to date.

Hi everyone,

The 1911 census had two George Beards enumeratd in Lewes, Sussex.  One was born abt 1867 and the other born about 1969. 

There is a death registration for a George Beard in Lewes in Sussex later that same year, and the approximated birth year for the George concerned was "about 1867".  It seems a likely possiblity that this related to the George Beard in question.
