Like I said thank you so much for the above information and now I know for certain that my Grandfather was John Barker.  Could anyone please find his birth records for me.  Looks like Jane Moon married James Sneyd and had two children and then went to live with John Barker and had five more children.

Your help would be much appreciated, thanks

I think these two threads should be linked as one . It would have saved me all this time if i had known most of what i had searched for was allready on this thread.
