Lea-Anne,
I do not know if you are aware of the Griffith Valuation of all property in Ireland used for taxation purposes. It was carried out between 1847 and 1864 (1862 for Antrim).
This lists William J. Davison renting 24 Acres and barns etc in the townland of Crosshill. He also rented a herd's house and 47 acres of grazing land in the nearby townland of Randox. I cannot find him renting his own house but in the townland of Crosshill there is a James Davison who rented a house, barns and 47 acres. I wondered if William John and his family lived here.
There are several other Davison families in the parish of Killead, probably related.

Regards
Stewart, Irwin, Morrison, Haslett, Murrell - Dungiven area Co. Londonderry
Browne, Barrett -Co.Armagh
Neil, Smyth _Co. Antrim

Thank you for the further information.
Is there a website I can have a look at the Griffith Valuations.  And also where can I look up for myself the birth information as given to me by Mary.   My late Mum's notes have some more children to this couple that I would like to find details on.
Thanks
Lea-Anne

You could find their father's names on the free database on ancestryireland.com

http://www.ancestryireland.com/database.php?filename=db_QUIS

You will see 3 Nancy Irwins were married in Co Antrim in 1849 and their father's were Samuel, William John and John.  Only one "William John Davison" marriage was registered in Co Antrim in that year though - his father was George - so you can order a transcript of the marriage certificate online at this site for £4.  Use William John's details to order so you don't get the wrong Nancy!

Lee-Anne--

I found this exchange exciting because your Nancy Irwin was my 1st cousin (4 times removed). What that means is that her mother and my great-great-great grandfather were sister and brother. Your Allen Davison would be my second cousin (3 times removed), and I assume that means that you and I are even more distant cousins (and I have found a couple more of our cousins up in Canada--I'm in the U.S.).

I would email you privately, but could not figure how to do so. I would gladly provide you any family info that I can (and would love to have any of your info--soon, as next month I am going to Antrim).

Thanks for the help. The button that i needed wasn't coming up and I guess that is why.

I was also interested in contacting you as well. You were obviously quite knowledgeable about Antrim, and I noticed the list of names on your email (specifically Stewart and Irwin).
