I have connections to the Sephton Boatbuilding family and have a large family tree, (some of which needs verification) but I would be happy to share and compare information. I also have connections to the Sephton's of Paradise , Coventry and would like to learn a little more about that side of my family.

Hello kimberlynn,
It depends upon what you mean by 'up North'. The Sephton boatbuilding family of Foleshill originates from Misterton in North Nottinghamshire and came to Foleshill via Sharlow on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire boarder.
I am aware that there is another group of Sephtons from around Lancashire. They are probably named after the Sefton area of Liverpool. Some of them migrated into the West Midlands, but I have never managed to find a connection between them and the Nottingham/Shardlow/Foleshill clan.
warm regards,
Kevin.

thanks for the reply! yes- i did mean lancashire / cheshire i had a feeling they were not connected although we had some go to the west midlands too, apparently most of the sephtons are not connected to "sefton" the place - anyway it was just a thought, thanks so much, k.
