William Cecil - Bandon Cork
« on: Monday 10 August 09 04:14 BST (UK) »
I am trying to pick up traces of a family called Cecil (Sicell) of English origin (possibly from Gloucestershire) who settled in the Bandon area in the early 1600s. I am aware of a Capt William Cecil who died in 1650. He had a sister called Anne Cossens who lived in Kinsale. He had a young son at the time of his death also called William and Anne possibly became his guardian. Anne could possibly be related to the Richard Cozene of Kinsale who was listed in the 1659 census.  ??? Thank you Minnie

Hi Minnie,

Have you looked at the 1625 Will for William Cecil, Gent of Bandon, Ireland at the Gloucester archives? [Will number 1625/220]

If so, I'd be interested in knowing what it includes.
