Andrew Sharp/ Helen (Henry)Hendrie
« on: Sunday 09 August 09 23:51 BST (UK) »
I am so very stuck and any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 10th Great Grandfather was Andrew Sharp b: abt. 1620-1640  married Helen (Henry) Hendrie b: abt. 1638 married July 14, 1659.   They had 8 children, all born in Aberdeenshire.

Elspet, Walter, Alexander, Richard, John, Andrew, William and George.  I have followed John's line all the way to myself and have gone a significant way into William's line.

Thank you for any help you may be able to give.

hi.  i was recently told that my tree may lead to andrew & helen.  i will try not to confuse you although it may be difficult as i am pretty confused.  my ancestor, john downe (or also spelled downs) sharp has always been noted as the child of isaac lorenzo sharp (grandson of anthony sharp, a famous dublin quaker).  i was told that there's been y-dna testing to show that john d. sharp is actually related to your andrew & helen.  this is the line as i was told

john d
john sharp (1721)-zeruiah paine
william sharp jr (1695) sarah langstaff
william sharp sr (1661) mary smith
andrew sharp-helen hendrie

i haven't been able to find how john sharp 1721 is sarah's child.....everything i've seen so far for her makes her born in the 1721 range not the 1698 that i have listed from this other source.  i see that she did have a child named john but he was born about 1745 making him a contemporary of john d., not his parent.    any help you can give me would be appreciated.
