Hello Elaine
Thanks for your two replies and advice . I was going to come back to you to let you know what information I already have and if you could have a look at it then I would be very grateful .

I have the information about the children but thanks for looking .
I do have the birth entry for Mary from SP and the address is given as 11,Blanhope or Blarhope Street , Greenock . I am sorry but I am unable to show you the spelling but that is what it looks like .
There is another son called Robert who was born in Greenock around 1854 but I have not viewed his details as yet .
In addition to the above I know that David was born in Manchester and is protestant/Church of England . Born about 1825
Janet was born in Glasgow in an area what looks like Woodside neighbourhood or similar . I have not come across her religion. Born about 1829 .
In 1857 the family move to Glasgow and other children are born , Janet dies in 1866 and it looks like the family then fall on hard times .In 1868 David applies to the parish for poor relief and I have a copy of the application . The writing is faint but it states they married as we know 16 August 1853 at Greenock . Now there is a name prior to the word Greenock and it is not very legible ,but if you are good at crosswords then you may be able to help . It looks like Hollyinge or something similar . I do not know if that is the name of the church or a place name , but I do know the Rev. John WILSON did the service . I am afraid that is all I can tell you . Many thanks for taking the time to help .
Eric
