Hi,
Although this is a very old post I am reading, I thought I would try my luck with the Flannerys too.
I am researching my husband's 2nd great grandfather, Denis or Dennis Flannery who was born in Tipperary around 1795. He was tried for a crime in 1823 and sent as a convict to Australia on the Prince Regent in 1824.
He did eventually get his freedom and after first marrying another convict, Anne Moore or Wilkinson, he married Janet McLeod or McCloud in 1841. The marriage produced two children, John Angus and Mary Flannery.
I am keen to find out any information about them.
I have seen a birth notice for a 'Dinis' Flannery in Nenagh in 1795 to Patt and Bridget (Biddy) Flannery and in 1820 saw a Dennis Flannery as witness to the wedding of Mary Flannery to John BRIEN. A Bridget Flannery was also a witness. Not sure if he is my man.
Anyone who can shed light on any of this, please do!
Thank you,
Lynn Flannery, WA
