Yes it seems very smooth, but I've just done a search for my GGrandparents, who I already have on this census, and nothing has come up!  Will probably have to try a load of spelling combinations.  But Hey, let's just be grateful it's finally here  ;D

Had another search and found Elizabeth DOWZARD, my gr grandmother's sister enumerated as
DOURGARD. It looked like Dowzard in her signature! ::) Yippee!

{I knew she had to be there somewhere. She owned the grave plot for the Dowzards in Mount Jerome, the one I could not find, because there was no head stone!??? She died in 1931.}

Found my Gran and, surprise surprise, my Grandad too - his sister left school in Salford that year so didn't really expect to find him.  The older children are living with an aunt (or maybe a great aunt as their uncle is also described as a nephew).  They also mistranscribed his surname but it was a common alternative form.

For both the pages I've found so far, the enumerator appears to have been a policeman.  Was that usual?

Dudley, Winchurch, Wolverson, Brookes (Black Country)

Yesss, found my great aunt (and the chap she married in London 3 years later  8))....but oh drats, her parents must have been in Scotland for that census. Now I have to wait for the 1901 to come online as I KNOW they were in Dublin then.

Now all I have to do is figure out how to view the image, doesn't seem to be working for me
Sylvia

later .....Finally got in after downloading a newer version of Adobe and there she is ...a cashier at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin....lovely stuff!

Yes I seem to find silly mistakes in transcribed version but very simple to pull up the actual copy of the form.  Just Christian names I think and I only had a few to look at and had seen them already save one but that one revealed a gem so very pleased  :)

Meanwhile they are happy to take corrections....

"Errors in index of names
There will be some errors in the index of names, and we are happy to receive corrections from users of the site. We cannot correct entries which accurately reflect what was filled out in the census form. We intend to rebuild the site at two- or three-monthly intervals, and all corrections received and verified by us will be entered during those rebuilds. We are grateful to users for their assistance with errors. Please use this simple form to record your corrections."

This is buried in 'cant find your relative' section.
