Nell, Once again I have been on the Strudwick Bramshott search. You mentioned that the parents of Sarah were a Richard and Mary. I have been told the same thing from Hants RO--so where did the Robert and Mary come from? Nell where did you see that info about Richard who I  thought was the" Steep " part of he family. Still no more on the father of George born 1795---am always hopeful. !!! Strud

so where did the Robert and Mary come from?

Do you mean literally or in relation to finding information?

I think we said before that George was illegitimate and unless you can find some other evidence - bastardy bond, acknowledgement by the father somehow  :-\ - you may never know the father's name.

Information about Richard and Mary comes from a parish register transcript and so should bec checked against the original where possible - just in case.  It's difficult - there is a Robert & Anne in Bramshott around 1760, Richard & Sarah in Steep in 1780s, a Robert & Mary in Bramshott in 1772, and a Richard & Mary in Bramshott in 1770, a Richard in Steep in 1773.  An analysis of all the families of these couples, looking at the names and baptism dates, may be the only way to sort out who is who and if perhaps there are errors in the transcriptions or original entries themselves.

I have a Strudwick x 2 that I have not cracked as yet.

1
I have a autosomal DNA connection to Strudwick, 3rd Cousin - 5th Cousin, so not that far away but I have not been able to connect.

2
Also I have a George Strudwick b.1763 Bramshott? Res. Hurst Berks, m Bramshott, 1783 Mary Greentree b,1762(?) Empshott, children Robert b.1789, Elizabeth b.1792 William b.1798, all Bramshott?

George' parents maybe Robert Strudwick b.1732 & Ann Mary Baxter b.1741

Mary then married John Butler 1790 (my line).
Butler in Hampshire, Sussex, Middlesex, London;also special interests including Bramshott, Empshott, Selborne, Faringdon, Tuxlith/Milland, Rogate, Midhurst, Liphook, Greatham, Hampstead.
