It is indeed a tawny owl Eric. Sadly, not mine. Was visiting a bird of prey centre near Sheffield. Got talking to the handler and he kindly let me hold it.
An amazing experience.

Can I add my thanks too, Eric. This era is of great worth to me.
And, to Dave, I have to say that your picture with the owl is superb. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Cheers guys

Still trying to work out which is the better looking. The owl is possibly slightly ahead.

Hi daval57,
I'm thrilled with the Glasgow 35 map, my parents lived there in 35 when first married, but I only have an 01 street guide and as you are aware streets have changed, so this is fabulous.
Thanks, from Australia.

Thanks, folks. Nice to know it is appreciated. Still a lot of work to be done on it. I am currently enhancing the Manchester 1930 map, replacing illegible street names etc.
All takes time, but the maps look better eventually.
Will hopefully be putting up a plan of Edinburgh in the future.

Thanks Dave, I was too busy looking at the bird that I put the wrong name on the reply.
Yes ,Orinoco, can certainly have the credit for his helpfulness to others.
Happy hunting!

Hi Eric,
I just wanted to repeat what everyone else has said so far. These maps are fabulous. Ive just come across this link, and Im glad I did.
Not only is the Glasgow map of use to me, I was delighted to study your London map from 1818. I am trying to seek my Huguenot ancestors within Bethnal Green area, so seeing the details on the map has been invaluable....so thank you.
Keep up the much appreciated work!
Kind regards
