Suffolk Brickwalls
« on: Friday 07 August 09 08:57 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm searching for the following Suffolk people as follows:

Sarah Coane - trying to find baptism @ 1746.  Only known information is she married George Banham in Ingham in 1772.

Mary Wyeth - need baptism.  Only known info she married Henry Goddard in Hoxne in 1733.

Robert Hinchlo/Hinchley.  Need baptism @ 1710.  Married Mary Stebbings in Wortham in 1730.

Joseph Goddard/Maria Burgess.  Am trying to find their marriage.  Baptism of 1st known child in 1795 in Cratfield.  Other baptisms in Hoxne.

Can anyone out there please help me?

Many thanks

Jenny

hi jennyromans, welcome to roorschat, I cannot help you with your request but I am sure someone will. You would be advised to remove your email address from your post as it will be removed when it is noticed. email addresses not allowed. not a good idea anyway. once you have made 3 posts you can communicate private information via the pm system [ just answer this a couple of times] john

Jenny, I wouldn't put your email address on the forum unless you don't mind getting tons of spam emails, because these forums are regularly scanned by search engines like Google.  When your post count is a little higher, people will be able to send you messages through the forums PM (Private Message) system.

With regard to your enquiry, you may never find all you're looking for, because baptism wasn't compulsory.

RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.

Hi Jenny and welcome to Rootschat  ;D

According to the IGI there were three Sarahs baptised between 1740-1760 in Ingham, Suffolk:

Sarah DAVIES ch 6/3/1747; father Jno (John), mother Susan
Sarah FOREMAN ch 7/9/1749; father Edwd (Edward), mother Rose
Sarah SKINNER ch 15/3/1755; father Robt (Robert), mother Sarah

Is it possible that this was a second marriage for Sarah?

And do remove your e-mail address - there are some funny people about!!  ::)

Kind regards

Hi

Thanks for the replies.  Can anyone advise me how to remove my email address please?

Secondly the marrige record states that Sarah was a singlewoman, so no married name there or any other information from the record unfortunately.

At the top left-hand corner of your post there is a Modify button.  Click on that, edit it and save  :)

Ahh, I see you found it !  ;D

You could try the Suffolk Surnames website where people will help you by looking up parish records:

Bloomfield, Knights, Whitmore, Warner (Suffolk)
Hamlin (London, Yorkshire, Scotland, Suffolk)
