I'm looking for the Parents of David Simmonds, Born abt 1781, Hampshire, England

1841 Census:

Wife: Priscilla Bushell, abt 1781, Hampshire, England
Son: Henry - abt 1804, Chatham Kent, England
        William - abt 1814, Landport, Hampshire, England

IGI: has a possible hit with James and Elizabeth Simonds (missing m in surname)

Any help would be much appreciated...

It would appear that all their children were baptised in Portsea:

James Symmonds 19 Mar 1797
Mary Ann Symmonds 8 Mar 1801
Sophia  14 Nov 1802
Henry 27 Jan 1805 (b 28 Aug 1804)
George 22 Dec 1807 (born 8 April)
Charles 8 Oct 1809                                           
Elizabeth 19 Jul 1812                                         
William 1 Oct 1815
Ann 16 Mar 1817 born 22 April 1816

I'm not having much luck with find David's baptism.  Presumably he died before 1851?

Most of the available transcriptions for Hampshire do not include the Isle of Wight.  As David said he was born in Hampshire it would be worth asking for a look up of Isle of Wight records.

Hi Mike,

Did you manage to find David's parents or birth record. I think he is possibly connected to one of my ancestors from the Isle of Wight but I need to know who his parents are.
