Hi again,

just for you to note and perhaps file away somewhere- sorry  ::) :-\

I've been looking for Grace Chester but with nothing much to go on - it's hard  ::)

1911 has a Rosa Jane Chester living in Finchley and 1901 has her as a domestic servant- nurse in North Finchley with the Tunnicliffe family. Further check- same family in 1911 so highly unlikely that she has anything to do with this. It was just the name Rosa and Finchley that was interesting.

1891 - she is home in Hampshire - no Grace!

There is another Rosa Chester in Paddington in 1891 and they are possibly related to each other.

On the other hand, there is a Grace Chester b 1838 living Wolverhampton in both 1901 and 1911 - obviously too old.

It would be good to find out who was living at those addresses in 1908, I suppose.

Sorry for rambling.

Hi

What date was the birth registered?

It's strange that she was born in Wolverhampton but mothers address was given as East Finchley

Hi and thanks for your interest so far

The Birth was registered on 6th January 1909

This lady has Been a mystery to me for well for ever...My mother (who was an in-law to this family) had said she was the daughter of a cousin to the family. She was disabled from birth.
But having found her entry in 1911 the unusual names and a birth at about the right time.
We thought at last we may have the solution....but only more questions...and no answers

The other oddity is that she appears to have been born within a marriage (on the face of it) yet later married as Brooks and gave William Brooks as her father - not George Tabor

Logically the mother gave false details - perhaps some poor girl who got into trouble and came to Wolverhampton to have her baby

William has a younger sister Ann b 1869 - have you managed to trace her through the census?
