Forces birth abroad
« on: Wednesday 05 August 09 15:41 BST (UK) »
If someone could help, please.

This is a query for a third party, so no actual details available.

If you were born in Germany, to a member of the forces, (Father in army I believe), where do you look for Birth details. (I take this to be in the post -war era c1945 -1950.)

  Thank you.

 David

They May not be on the main GRO indexes. There is another index for forces births (pay-per-view though)

All census look up transcriptions are Crown Copyright http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/

There are plenty of births in Germany on both ARMY BIRTH INDICES and CONSULAR BIRTH INDICES around the dates you are looking (via FindMyPast) - happy to check a reference for you if you need one

Cheers
Sue

I found two without paying
http://www.familyrelatives.com

If you login, browse overseas records

YOu have to go through a few but it's not too bad

Found two births including one for a cousin now living in Oz were both born in Germany in the 1950s
