Place of birth is Ireland. The reason I am Mentioning it is 2 fold, there is a George Dunkley (Possibly father) in the Griffith Valuation for Baltinglass, Wicklow which has been mentioned in an earlier post but also the family's listed before George in the Canadian 1851 census are from Baltinglass area. George married, had children and stayed in this area for some time as he appears in a number of Census records for the area. The name always stood out and it helped when I was searching for other records in the area. Here is a settlement map for Canada about this time. https://www.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=8cc6be34f6b54992b27da17467492d2fIf you zoom in on Huron County and look for a town north of Goderich called Port Albert. George is farming a plot just East of this town.
