I am looking for further information on Emma Kinton, b. 5 Nov 1791, Farleigh, d. 17 Feb 1879, Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa.

I know she married Joseph Weakley (1790 - 1863), and they were part of 1820 Settlers to South Africa.

Info on parents and siblings would be nice.

Can anyone confirm that Emma's father was one Christian Kinton, b. 1760, Wiltshire, England?

I found this detail when using various "free search" techniques on ancestry.co.uk...

I still do not know her mother's name, so any update on that would be great.

Hi there

freereg.org have Farleigh Hungerford St Leonard transcriptions online and there isn't a baptism for Emma. There is a Rachell 12 May 1794 parents James and Rachell but nothing else in Farleigh.

I know you have the marriage record which shows her of Frome St John the Baptist parish at that time, have you tried Frome just in case? This is a good site showing all online transcriptions including Frome  http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ian.sage/index.html
