??? You sure about that, mate? Remind me; Where's Landport Terrace? Only, I knew someone who lived in one of those terraces. Right next to the Horseshoe. North eastern side of the cross roads.

Might not have been the 'right' terrace, of course. But, I didn't feel the balcony was as low as in ye first photo there. But then, I'm not 100% that the three or four places on KC were 'identical' anyway.

Second one's KC alright. Came across it before, in passing. Before I appreciated it.

What we need is the Next Generation! Some bugger, in Pompey, ready to simply go about the place with a camera. Snapping the sort of stuff we're dealing with here. That said, of course, I obviously realise that wandering about, taking shots of peoples homes / streets / selves, in Pompey could well prove hazardous to ones health. Lovely place that it is   ::)

Listen; How's your Mailer? Only, chatting with ye by email, it's obvious you're the real deal. I'm thinking: What if I email ye my complete set of folders? That way, you too could sit and study the whole lot. I'm certain ye'd spot and recognise stuff that's simply slipped by me.

Then, ye could tell me what ye've sussed and added to. And we could each hold a matched set of notes. Anything happens to either of us? All isn't suddenly lost  :)

Next generation eh..what about the last generation..got my mum on the case so watch this space or your email box.
You can give the folder issue a go if you like :o dunno where it will end up but i'll give it a go.

Landport Terrace ends at the Kings rd roundabout & thats where Hampshire Terrace starts.
My aunt & uncle had a shop in old Commercial rd near Sulton rd,it was called Sutton Stores,
my uncle also had haulage lorrys based in Regent st off of Commercial rd,called Sutton Transport,
i think.I was wondering if you had any photos of that area that might contain a glimpse of them.
I am also trying to find a photo of The Swan pub in Copnor rd pre 1970,my daughter lived in
the house next to the Swan, which was built on land that was an Italian stonemasons, the name
was something like Mancetti,we cant find any photos so hoping you may beable to help, thanks.

Dalkey; I've looked through my Commercial Rd folder. But, the obsession, back in the day, appears to have been with the Edinborough Rd end. So, whilst I could possibly pull ye something to match an era? I'm afraid I don't have anything more specific.

Regards the Copnor Rd " Swan "? I don't have anything on that one (Given Pompey must have contained about a million pubs in its day, it's not surprising that no one photographed every one of them).

However, Portsmouth Pubs has a shot of the place. Can't have changed much since the pre 70's. Though, the place just touched on, to the south,  looks like it might be newer. And I dare say ye'd have found this site / shot already.

Sorry I can't help here. It's the blow outs that make the bulls eyes so mind bendingly rewarding though.

Remember also, local historian, Steven Pomeroy has a collection of shots too. Google him. Then, if ye in the area, I'm sure the Central Library and City Records Office hold stuff. And, don't forget Winchester ..... No telling what's out there, somewhere  ;)

??? If ye could possibly explain what a " lukeis family " was, please ....?

Unless ye actually mean a family of people? In which case, I'm afraid that's completely beyond my scope. I only have pictures of places.
