1851 census for Rasharkin Parish is transcribed here-
www.searchforancestors.com/locality/ireland/census1851/rasharkin.html
Lots of Calderwoods in "Killydonly" but only Robert I can see the correct age (age 5) is son of Alexander and Jane.

Hi Jane,

Welcome to rootschat  :) Your earlier message came through to RootsChat Support as you replied to a notification (I think)

Hello Nic ,

Thank you for your very prompt contact. I am a total amateur at Family research and only a tiny bit better on the iPad ........... could not begin to make sense of a laptop !

Grandfather
Andrew Fulton Calderwood
15th October 1881 Ballymena 19th November 1938 Cambuslang

Grandmother
Jane ( Jeannie ) Adam Craib
24th May 1882. Cadder, Lanarkshire 23rd January 1966. Glasgow

They married
24the December 1908

NOW THE DEBATABLE BIT .

Robert Calderwood
1847 Ireland. ? ?

Nancy / Agnes Fulton
1849 Ireland ? ?

Their marriage
1st November 1865

Jeannie's family seem to have been done already so I did a lot of double
checking !

Her Father
William Craib
1843 Glasgow

Married
2nd June 1865 Blythswood , Glasgow

Mother
Annie McKinley
1843. Glasgow

As I have yet to work out how to " attach " things I will send separately the Cadder cemetery headstone and my Grandparents marriage .

I have given up looking for more info as it was time consuming , addictive and a bit pricey . But I must give full marks to the local .... Latter Day Saints Church ....
They have a lady who will get you started and actually help you find the initial info.
She gave me tips and she was the one who found what we assume is my Irish connection ........ Daddy never mentioned Ireland !

Thank you for coming back to me in an email . I was decidedly worried about how I could access your info on Rootschat .

All the best , Jane

Alexander Calderwood, Killydonnelly died 6 Sept.1882
"Administration (with the Will) of the personal estate of Alexander Calderwood late of Killydonnelly County Antrim Farmer who died 6 September 1882 granted at Belfast to Matthew Calderwood of Killydonnelly Farmer the Son." Will mentions wife (still alive), sons Robert, Matthew, John & daughters Elizabeth, Mary, grandson Alexander (Mary's son), grandson Alexander (Robert's son). Can't see a date Will was written so this may explain why the estate was administered.

I can post lots more details of Alexander Calderwood's descendants if anyone interested.
