my grandfather William Henry Bradford was born at bonds street, Derry in 1930 the son of John Albert Bradford(soldier) and Martha Gertrude Edwards whose parents were William Henry Edwards(harbour constable) and Catherine Jamieson or Jameson.

Martha was born in Derry 1907 and died in England, i am trying to find any info on William Henry Edwards and Catherine, William was dead by 1925.

Welcome to Rootschat. It will probably be difficult to find information online for such recent events. Like any research you need to take it step by step to avoid following the wrong leads.

The 1911 census for Co. Londonderry is now scheduled to be online in mid. September (although may very well be delayed again) and if the Edwards family lived in Derry they should be listed.

There are some directories for Derry available online- I looked through 1907 and 1910 but William Henry Edwards isn't listed.

I did fing W H Edwards, 40 Bonds St., Londonderry signing Ulster Covenant in 1912- www.proni.gov.uk- you can view his signature there. Also a Catherine Edwards and a G Edwards there.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

~~~~~~~~----------------------------------------------------
Checking the IGI (www.familysearch.org) for William Henry Edwards born c1870 (+/- 2 yrs) there's ones in Cork and Dublin. However, there's a William Edwards born 14 June 1871 Londonderry (parents George Edwards & Catherine Harkin)- although this is a submitted not extracted entry.
If you get William and Catherine's marriage certificate it should list his father's name and occupation which might rule out that last possible birth.
IGI lists 4 children for George and Catherine Edwards (married 1869 Co. Derry) - Anne (1869), William (1871), Paul (1873), George (1877).
See here for details about ordering certifcates-
Mary- I noticed that Irish Genealogy index has name as William N J Edwards also.
nvb272- when asking for help it is best to give us all the information that you have to save us from duplicating what you've already found.
You mention Martha's 1925 marriage here which maryderry took the trouble of posting for you- www.ulsterancestry.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3169
There are also more posts here-
Perhaps after you get the marriage certificate, as has been suggested, for William Henry Edwards and Catherine Jameson you'll be able to find more on your family.
Hi, may I ask if Catherine Jamieson is the sister of George and Alexander Jamieson and daughter of William Jamieson and Jane Key?
