Hi I live in County Monaghan in Ireland and I am interested in any evidence of James Connolly's parents John Connolly and Mary McGinn, who were both reportedly born in County Monaghan. Does anybody have any evidence of their dates and birthplaces thanks.

I have been trying to piece together the James Connolly family for a while. I have been unable to find any definite Connolly links for Monaghan but the McGinns are recorded as coming from there i.e. James McGinn (brother of James Connolly's mother) and Bridget Boyle married in 1855 and both gave Monaghan as their birthplace. As James McGinn was a few years younger than his two sisters it is likely that all three siblings were born in Monaghan before moving to Scotland.
Happy to provide more details on the three families if you think that might help to nail down their Monaghan roots.

Hi - I have just come across this thread and had to post.

I am a relative of James Connolly.

My Mum (Meliosa) is June Beech, her mother is Moira, who was of course one of the daughters of James.

We are really interested in our family tree and connecting with other people who have information.

We're making a trip over to Dublin and Belfast in September to visit the James Connolly museum in Belfast and the Post Office in Dublin.

If anyone on here is a relative or has information to share I'd love to connect?
