Were in Bathurst - Jane born 1855, Hugh 1856, Andrew 1859.  When did they come to NSW?

Welcome to rootschat helke.

Could you please elaborate and explain what you already know about these people? It is very difficult to begin to help with so few details.

Their death certificates should say how long they've lived in NSW.

Their death certs should also say where they were married and how many other children they had? If they had other children with them on voyage it eliminates others by the same name.

I do not have Death Certificates because I am not sure when they died - they were in Bathurst in 1855 when they had daughter Jane, then Hugh in 1856 (my line) and Andrew in 1859.  There is a William Kerr who died in 1859 and a Jane Kerr in 1865 but as there are other people with the same name, not sure which is the correct one.  Just though someone might recognise the names.  I cannot find them on a shipping list either so I don't know when they came to NSW

That is so great - I have found them.  Thank you so much.  My line is through Hugh Kerr, he married in Newcastle in 1876 Janet Farmer, occupation shipwright, their son, John William Kerr is my husband's grandfather.  Do you have other information about them?  Did Jane Kerr die in 1865?  Also wonder if you know if there is any connection with John William Kerr, aged 22, Able Seaman, and Hugh Kerr, aged 22, Coxswain, who were crew members on First Fleet flagship 'Sirius' - just wondered because in our branch of the family, the names John William and Hugh are repeated, suggesting family tradition/names.

Thank you, from Helke

I will send you a PM as current names and information is not allowed to be displayed on here.
