Hello Jamison
I have  taken along time and I am sorry for that.
I have a few things that may interest you, the death certificate for Janes mother Elizabeth which I am happy to post to you, also a letter from the Adelaide cemetery with a photo of the headstone for Charles and Elizabeth.

Hi All

I remember doing a search some time ago for Jane "POORE" daughter of Elizabeth nee HENDERSON, but cannot now find a thread with this info.

There was a birth for Jane HENDERSON in the  Dec Q 1851 at  Alderbury a year before the POORE & HENDERSON marriage.

POORE  Charles  &  HENDERSON  Elizabeth
Dec Q 1852
Alderbury  5a 381

AND this marriage in SA is I believe the illegitimate daughter of Elizabeth nee HENDERSON.
Bride: Jane HENDERSON aged 23, daughter of William CURVILL
Groom: George OATLEY aged 30, son of George OATLEY
m:  13.05.1874; Place: Registry Office Adelaide;
Ade/Book/Page: 99/634

Jane OATLEY of Bowden, aged 72y
Died 29.11.1923 in hospital Adelaide
District Code: Ade / Book: 466/Page: 450
George OATLEY was deceased husband

Dear Essie

Thanks for taking the time to add what you have.

Yes, Elizabeth had Jane (1851) before she married Charles Poore in 1852

I have an Edward Henderson as the illigitimate child of Jane before she married Charles Poore.

Edward was born in 1846 according to the 1851 Census but l have not found anything more.

Elizabeth and Charles arrived in Australia in 1853 with the children.

Charles`s two (George and Mary) from his first wife and Elizabeth`s Edward.

Does any of this ring any bells !!!

They went on to have 4 more children = Harriett, Sarah, William and Charles.

Regards Jamison

Hello Essie

Wow thanks for that - very much appreciated  :)

Yes, l have found that to be the case of the other children being named after their stepfather, in those days.

Just a question  - Did Edward have any children by these marriages ?

And again thanks for the info. - the Tree grows !!!
