Hi Rosie,
I have a William McDonald (b.1821) in my own family line. His parents were James McDonald (b.1779) & Janet McGibbon (b.1787). I have no death records for William.
William's brother James (b.1815) married a Margaret Wilson in 1838 - Low Church, Paisley.
While researching Paisley McDonalds I came across records of an Angus McDonald who is buried in the High Kirk (School Wynd) Paisley. I believe there is no headstone.
Malcolm McDonald (b.1745 approx.) my 4 x gt grandfather and his wife Catherine Stewart are both buried in the High Kirk graveyard. It's possible these separate burial liars have some form of family connection - As residence street names recorded in burial records have some similarities.
No ages are recorded but would guess Angus McDonald was older than Malcolm McDonald. As his liar numbers precede that of Malcolm's. Perhaps we can share information.
Thanks - George
Hi,
Having problems finding any record of William McDonald's birth in Paisley about 1830 and any record of his marriage to Mary Wilson also in Paisley in 1854. His death cert. from 1872 gives his parents as Angus McDonald and Janet Fairlie but I have been unable to find records for them either.
Accord to the census' 1861 and 1871 William worked in a soap work and lived in New Sneddon.
Can anyone help?
