hi, i am trying to find the date of death of my great grandmother, her name was Martha Pollock and her last known address was 579 port richmond avenue, staten island, new york in 1942, she emigrated after she raised her family and my great grandfather died at the beginning of the war, she may have re-married in later life i cannot be sure, any info would be greatly appreciated.

Did your great grandfather die in Richmond?  Do you have his death record?  His record would be more likely to appear in the online index given the date.  There are a number of potential matches for him, but I don't know his first name.  Anyway, the couple could be interred together, thereby giving you the date of your great-grandmother's death and the option to order her death certificate.  Depending on how late she died, she could also appear in the SSDI.

HI BOTH MY GREAT GRANDPARENTS WERE BORN HERE IN BELFAST, MARTHA WAS BORN IN 1874 AND THOMAS 1875, THOMAS ALSO DIED HERE BEFORE THE START OF WW2, WHICH IS WHEN MARTHA EMIGRATED TO THE U.S.

staying in US permanently


The birth is somewhat off, but the Social Security Death Index has a Martha Pollock born 9 Jul. 1872 and died Jul. 1963.  She last resided in New York.

If you have any information about Charles Burns or the daughter of Martha's that he might have married, it might help.  As it stands, not knowing anything but an address, I didn't see anything that stood out as a definite match for Charles.
