My grand-father was Daniel . His father Alexander had died, and their mother re-married and died in1919. My grand-father and Alfred went into an industrial school and were both to be sent out to Canada, but my grand-father went to live with his brother Albert. I have looked at the records at the industrial school and Alfred went to Canada on the Minnedosa to Toronto in 1923. We have been in touch with Albert's grand-daughter and her grand-dad had thought that Alfred would try to get back to England and we do know that he did try to get in touch with his brothers via a newspaper article in later years. We had a feeling he may have reverted back to the name Phillips, but are not sure.
